…while watching the documentary do ask yourself, is country more important than these faces and the tragedy they faced, and is country is more important than what they have been through and experienced!….
This is a 3 parts documentary and WORTH WATCHING. It has English Subtitles so everyone can understand what the victims are saying….
When the documentary got nominated for Oscar Award, people living in Pakistan had happy tidings in them just because a lady from their country got nominated in Oscars. This documentary got the award, however this time more than half of the country came up with the point that this is not the Oscar we have got but it is something that is damaging the image of the country. People said that the documentary was damaging the image of the country and the things happening in Pakistan. It is true undoubtedly that there are 100 or more acid attacks cases reported each year in Pakistan but there are lots of cases that are not reported.
While watching this documentary I came up with a different prospective.
One has lost the identity i.e. face, social life, going out, smile and laugh. This is the biggest tragedy of their life. They cant have the same life and face, but instead of thinking this way we are saying that this documentary is damaging the image of the country!!!
When it comes to ANYTHING in PK, people say this is NOT ISLAM and this is NOT SHARIAT….but this time when the topic was Acid Attacks Victims, no one ever came up up saying this is NOT Islam……….
